Game Day – Senators Host Canadiens on Saturday Night

Goes without saying but this is a big one.

After slump busting wins Over the lowly Canucks and Rangers, the Sens have started to right the ship a little bit. Again. But if they’re going to really make a push here and start to reel In some of the teams that pulled away in the Last month or so, they need to string some wins together. And this weekend wouLd be a great time to do just that, with a back to back against teams setting the pace in the Atlantic.

The Ottawa Senators host the Montreal Toilet Seats on Saturday night in Ottawa.

We’ll see if there are any lineup changes a little later this morning. Might be a time to consider adding Kurtis MacDermid back in but that’s going to be a little bit tricky with that fourth line looking so good the last few games. Going to assume same lineup for now.

Zetterlund-Stützle-Batherson
Tkachuk-Cozens-Greig
Amadio-Pinto-Giroux
Cousins-Eller-Perron

Sanderson-Zub
Chabot-Jensen
Kleven-Spence

No word on a starter just yet. Linus Ullmark was back on the ice yesterday but isn’t ready to play yet. James Reimer could get a game this weekend but not clear which one. Leevi Merilainen has won a couple starts in a row but didn’t look overly sharp in the win against the Rangers. Anything is possible.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:08 PM at The Tire in beautiful Kanata, Ontario. The game is available on CityTV and Sportsnet East and on the radio at TSN1200 and 104.7 FM. If you’re looking for something a little spicier on this Saturday night, shady internet pirates will be serving up illegal streams closer to game time.

Here’s how these two teams match up, courtesy of the stunning HEAD2HEAD table, featuring just the right amount of toilet seats.

A reminder – Kids Up Front is an amazing local organization that provides kids in our community with the chance to attend live hockey games and over the next few days, their doing a nation-wide fundraiser with a handful of Canadian cities engaging in a wee bit of friendly competition to see who can raise the most. We got off to a great start yesterday (close to $800!) but there’s still time to add to that total. If you’ve already donated, feel free to pass along the link to friends and family that might wanna make a donation.
