It’s still a post ON Game Day, I suppose.
They don’t ask how, they ask how many. And in the case of Linus Ullmark, the answer is all of ’em.
It wasn’t pretty but in the end, the Ottawa Senators found a way on Thursday night, grinding our a hard-fought win over the New York Islanders on home ice.
With the win, the Senators now move to 6-2-0 on the season and starting goalie Linus Ullmark moves to 6-0-0, matching the best start for a Sens goalie since Ray Emery did the same back in 2005/2006.
To say Ullmark was dialed in tonight is an understatement. It’s not that he was peppered back there – the Islanders had just 21 shots on the night – but the game just looked quite easy for Sens goaltender. And it’s been that way a lot this season. He had three big stops in overtime and then turned aside everything he saw in the shootout. By the time the final shooter took a turn for the Islanders, he decided it was probably best to just dump in the corner.
