The Ottawa Senators are ready for life without Brady Tkachuk.
And it’s a life that includes 23 year old forward William Eklund. Eklund is a winger that can do a little bit of everything and there are signs that he may just be scratching the surface of his potential. His underlying numbers are great and with a little shooting luck and an elevated role, he could be a 70-point guy.
He also comes with an incredible three-year contract worth around $5.6 mil a season. You can bet that deal was a big part of the appeal here.
He’s bringing a couple friends too. The trade also include Kasper Halttunen and the rights to Brandon Svoboda. Halttunen is a 21-year old winger that has scored everywhere he has played, including an impressive 35 points in 69 AHL games last season. Svoboda is a 6’3 centre that spent the last couple seasons at Boston University.
To my knowledge, none of the three players included in the deal have podcasts with their brother.
Onward and upward!
