Point Projections for 2018/2019

It’s prediction week here on SensChirp.

Yesterday, I told you exactly how the league standings will look at the end of the year. As if that isn’t impressive enough, I’m now ready to take it to the next level.

Any old expert can take a swing at predicting where a team will finish but only the elite few can activate their prognostic abilities to the level of individual players. I attempted this a couple seasons ago and had the Senators scoring something like 500 goals. A league record by more than 50 goals.  People got very angry and I vowed to never attempt it again.

Yet here we are.

While I have made a conscious effort to dial it back a bit, I still see the Senators greatly improving on the 221 goals they scored last year. Maybe not 500 but still. While this may come as a surprise considering the talent they’ve lost, I think an improved power play, a more aggressive forecheck, balance throughout the line up and just a better/happier team will lad to a more productive line up.

Only players currently on the roster have been included for simplicity sake. But I do expect a few guys starting the season in Belleville to be up here at some point. That includes Logan Brown, Filip Chlapik, Drake Batherson and Christian Wolanin.

This year, I’m also including a games played column which makes things a touch more complicated. And by a touch I mean, this took me all damn day.  There’s almost zero chance that the number of total games played makes any sense but it’s my website and I can do what I want.  Also, yes, I am aware that some of the players listed may ultimately play those games in another city.

Please try not to get lost in the beauty of this table.

Okay. Here it goes.
