If I had told you back in September that this is where the Ottawa Senators Sens would sit on March 14th, you would have thought that sounds about right. While this year has included some dizzying highs and punishing lows, it’s ultimately about where we thought they would be. Young players taking significant strides forward and a team playing meaningful games down the stretch.
The Ottawa Senators look to right the ship as they close out a five-game road trip against the Edmonton Connor McDavids.
Some fairly significant changes to the lineup ahead of this one. Mathieu Joseph is out for sure. Thomas Chabot and Parker Kelly are considered doubtful. And there may be some other guys that are game-time decisions.
At the same time, there will be a different look in the top which includes a swap on the right side as Drake Batherson moves up and Claude Giroux slides down. The bottom six is very much a “who’s left” alignment. With Thomas Chabot likely out, Jakob Chychrun moves back to the left side. Both Erik Brannstrom and Nick Holden will play.
