Game Day – Senators Continue Road Trip in Dallas

Just two more to go.

That’s all that the Senators have left on the road trip that was affectionately referred to as “The Road Trip of Doom”. A seven-game odyssey that took the Sens through California, to Vegas, St. Louis, Dallas and finally, to Montreal. It’s the toughest portion of the schedule all year and so far anyway, the Senators have navigated it well. Tonight might be the toughest game yet though.

The Ottawa Senators visit the Stars on Sunday night in Dallas.

Outside of whatever the heck the Colorado Avalanche are right now, the Dallas Stars might be the league’s best. They’ve won three straight, they have a +18 goal differential and their power play is currently ranked first in the National Hockey League. The two teams played back in Ottawa earlier this month and the Stars let a two-goal lead slip away. The Senators will have to be at their best tonight.

Think we’ll see the Senators at least start with a similar lineup as the other night in St. Louis although their is some uncertainty on the blueline. Dennis Gilbert was recalled from Belleville yesterday with Thomas Chabot being moved to the IR. We’ll see what this means for the blueline a little closer to game time.

Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 PM this evening. A delightful palate cleanser after a day of watching football. The game is available on TV (TSN5), Radio (TSN1200 and 104.7) and on the Internet (Shady Internet Pirates).

Wondering how the Senators match up against this evenings opponent but you’re just too damn busy to do the research yourself? Let the HEAD2HEAD table be your guide.
