The Binghamton Senators have wrapped up their preseason schedule and now must trim the fat from the training camp roster in preparation for Saturday's opener.

The BSens continued that process over the weekend, assigning forward Jakub Culek to Rimouski of the QMJHL and sending Chris Wideman, Danny New, Brad Peltz and Scott Greenham to teams in the ECHL.

The weekend moves leave the BSens with 29 players in camp with the remaining cuts expected to come over the course of this week.  Bingo opens the regular season against the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday night.

  • The exodus of NHL players to Europe continued over the weekend with another Ottawa Senator headed overseas. Kyle Turris will join Oulun Karpat of the Finnish Elite League, taking a spot that was held by Jussi Jokinen.  Turris could be in the line up with his new team as early as Wednesday night.
  • Milan Michalek is reportedly skating with Ceske Budejovice in the Czech Republic and is expected to join the team once insurance issues on his NHL contract can be sorted out.
