The Ottawa Senators have announced they have reached an agreement with restricted free agent defenceman Patrick Wiercioch.
The deal will see Wiercioch earn an average of $2 mil a season for the next three years. The 22 year old defenceman racked up 19 points in the lockout shortened season and is expected to take on a bigger role with the departure of Sergei Gonchar. With Wiercioch signed, Murray can now shift his focus to Jared Cowen, who is also a restricted free agent.
