Schedule Released, Greening Extension

Posting from my phone this morning so I’ll have to keep things a little briefer than usual.

If you missed it yesterday afternoon, the NHL announced their schedule for the upcoming season along with the names of the new divisions. The Ottawa Senators find themselves in the Atlantic Division along with the Bruins, Canadiens, Leafs,Sabres, Red Wings, Panthers and Lightning in what will certainly be one of the league’s most competitive divisions.

The Senators open their season with a grueling six game road trip that starts with stops in Buffalo and Toronto before heading West to play the Kings,Sharks, Ducks and Coyotes. A tough stretch for Ottawa right out of the gate.

Daniel Alfredsson will make his much anticipated return to Ottawa when the Wings visit the CTC on December 1st.

I’ll have a full breakdown on the schedule early next week but in the meantime some other news to pass along as word has it the Sens are working on an extension for forward Colin Greening. The deal is believed to be in the neighborhood of 5 years and will see the forward earn between 2 and 3 mil a season.

Will pass along details as they become available. Enjoy your Saturday everyone.
