On the Brink

Tonight at midnight, what has seemed inevitable for the past couple months will be made official.

The National Hockey League will do the unfathomable and once again take hockey away from people that Gary Bettman called the best fans in sports. The owners are to blame. The players are to blame. Nobody is innocent in this process and both sides should be ashamed that they let it come to this.

The belief is the two sides will speak unofficially today but right as of right now, no formal talks are planned.

The best part about this site has always been the fact that I know I'm talking to and interacting with fans that are just like me. While everyone else is disappointed to see the end of summer we hockey-mad type are exicted because it means a new hockey season is just around the corner.

Well not this year.

Today, I hand my blog over as a soap box for the die hard fan. How do you feel as the NHL teeters on the edge of yet another lockout? How will you fill the void? What will you do to ensure your voice is heard this time around?

I'm away from the computer most of the day today but I'll be checking the comment section to share in the frustration of SensChirp readers while periodically checking Twitter for a lockout day mircale.
