(UPDATE 1:05 PM)- The deal with MacArthur is apparently a two year deal worth $3.25 mil a season. Pretty close to Alfie numbers.
(UPDATE 12:59 PM)- It will do little to soften the blow from today's shocking development but according to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Ottawa Senators have made a minor splash in free agency, signing former Leaf forward Clarke MacArthur to a contract. Waiting for details.
According to word from both Bruce Garrioch and Darren Dreger, Daniel Alfredsson has informed the Ottawa Senators he will not be returning.
I honestly have no words to describe the way I feel about how this whole process went down. From Eugene Melnyk on down, everyone in this organization has some serious explaining to do about what went wrong.
Unbelievable. Sounds as though Alfredsson will end up in Detroit on a contract that will see him earn around $5 million. Worth every penny…
