And just like that, the Ottawa Senators are back into seller mode.
Today, they announced that they have traded UFA-to-be Vladimir Tarasenko to the Florida Panthers. The return is pretty underwhelming but Tarasenko did have some leverage here with his NTC which obviously limited the teams Ottawa could deal with.
Tarasenko fit in well with the Senators during his brief stint and played as good as they could have expected. He was expected to provide some veteran depth up front and he did that. Unfortunately, the team just wasn’t competitive and keeping him around didn’t make a lot of sense.
Florida was apparently one of Tarasenko’s preferred destinations so this move makes sense from his stand point too.
