Game Day- Senators Return Home to Face Red Wings

In the third period of last night’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, the Ottawa Senators finally woke up.

This recent slump has been painful and at times it sort of felt like the season was slipping away and with very little resistance from a banged up team.  The injuries have been a huge issue but the players in the line up just didn’t seem to have the desperation required to get this thing back on track. Until the third period.

They only came away with a single point but there was a lot to like about the way the Senators finished last night’s game and there should be a lot to build on as they return home to the Canadian Tire Centre for the first time in almost two weeks.

Goes without saying but the stakes remain incredibly high for the Senators as they try to catch the Leafs for second place in the Division but also hold off the two teams in hot pursuit. Figures to be another crucial night in the Atlantic Division too with the Leafs home to the Washington Capitals and the Bruins and Lightning going head to head in Boston.

Bobby Ryan is out. Ryan Dzingel is in. Colin White is out. And CLARKE MACARTHUR is in. Yes, really!

For the hockey players among us, I wanted to share the details on a fun event coming up later this month. The 5th Annual Hockey for Heart Tournament in memory of Bill Kitchen will take place on April 22nd and April 23rd at the Bell Sensplex.

This recreational-level hockey tournament provides hockey players and fans from organizations across the city with the opportunity to participate in a fun vent raising critical life-saving funds. They’ve raised an incredible $240,000 over the past 4 years for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

This year, the the top fundraising team wins a free registration into our 2018 tournament, with the Top 10 fundraisers being entered in to the  “Pro-Stars SENS ALUMNI” game on Saturday at 4p.m and receive an exclusive Hockey For Heart Team Jersey, and be coached by Brian “Killer” Kilrea!
