Game Day- Senators, Flames Meet Again in Calgary

Some quick math tells me the Ottawa Senators have played about 45% of their season.

And as we close in on the half-way point of this strange year, the Senators find themselves at the bottom of the Division. Mostly because of that unfortunate losing streak that took up about 36% of the games they’ve played to date. It’s not all bad news though because like 63% of their wins have come against the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens and they’ve also beat tonight’s opponent 67% of the time while scoring 64% of the goals in those games.

And some more good news- you’re already like 45% of the way through today’s Game Day post.

The Ottawa Senators continue their five-game road trip with a stop in Calgary to take on Matthew Tkachuk and the Calgary Flames.

DJ Smith has his team on the ice for a game day twirl at the Calgary Corral and it seems like there will be a couple changes to the lineup.

First off Ryan Dzingel, scorer of the biggest goal in franchise history that nobody remembers because of what happened after it, makes his Sens debut two. He’ll wear the number 10, following in the foot steps of Sens legends like Andreas Dackell, Peter Bondra, Tyler Arnason and Brandon Bochenski.

Meanwhile on defence, Braydon Coburn is back in while Mike Reilly comes out.

Here’s how they are expected to line up…

Tkachuk-Norris-C. Brown
Paul-White-Dadonov
Stützle-Anisimov-Batherson
Dzingel-Tierney-Watson

Chabot-Zub
Coburn-Zaitsev
Brannstrom-Gudbranson

Puck drop is scheduled for just after 9:00 PM so govern yourselves accordingly. The game is available on the television, the radio and the internet. Special thanks to Philo Taylor Farnsworth II, Guglielmo Marconi and Al Gore for making tonight possible.

Calgary and Ottawa have played each other 15 times in the last week but if you’re still left wondering how these teams match-up, let the HEAD2HEAD table be your guide.
