After eight years of watching meaningless regular season games, you think I’d be used to it by now.
The fact is, it is almost unthinkable to me that there are still four regular season games remaining. While some jostling is still possible in the standings and the results down the stretch will ultimately determine who the Senators play in Round One, it’s gonna be hard to focus on these remaining games. If I’m being perfectly honest, it’s hard to focus on anything that isn’t playoff hockey.
The playoff-bound Ottawa Senators play a hockey game on Friday night in the Nation’s Capital.
Lineups and ice time are going to be the story in these last four games. Brady Tkachuk is expected to skate today but there’s obviously no rush to get him back. Maybe one tuneup game at some point but hard to say.
In an ideal world, the Belleville Senators would come up play these last few but the league has rules against such things. We’ll see how Travis Green balances the rust <=> rest equation over the next couple weeks.
Here’s how they lined up at practice…
Perron-Stützle-Batherson
Giroux-Cozens-Zetterlund
Greig-Pinto-Amadio
Highmore-Gaudette-Cousins
Crookshank
Sanderson-Zub
Chabot-Jensen
Kleven-Matinpalo
Gilbert-Hamonic
No word on a starting goalie just yet.
