Game Day- McKenna Starts vs. Panthers

You know what’s better than winning one game in the State of Florida?

Winning the lottery. Man, that would be great.

But also, winning TWO games in the State of Florida would be pretty good too. On the heels of an impressive comeback victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Senators are right back at it against Mike Hoffman and the Florida Panthers.

Should be interesting to see what sort of reaction Hoffman gets from his former teammates.

Hoffman found himself in the centre of some of the team’s locker room issues last year and while nobody left behind in Ottawa every really said anything negative publicly, the team and Management frequently referred to a broken dressing room last.

And while it was almost entirely out of his hands and a lot of the stories are still being contested to this day, it’s no secret that Hoffman was a part of that broken room.

Things have been going well for Hoffman so far in Florida. He has 7 goals through his team’s first 13 games including 3 on the power play. Just a little tip for the Sens penalty kill guys today…Hoffman is probably gonna shoot.

The Senators will make one change to the line up as Nick Paul draws in up front.  Chris Wideman is nursing a minor lower body injury and will come out on the blueline.  No game day skate so tonight’s line combinations will be a wee bit of a mystery till puck drop.

And even then who the hell knows. A best guess for now.

At the age of 35, Mike McKenna makes just the 20th start of his NHL career. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 5:00 PM.

The game is available on TSN5, TVA, TSN1200 and with a well-placed device, can be conveniently streamed under the dinner table and nobody will be the wiser.

Speaking of tables, I beg you, to please table responsibly.
