Game Day- The Biggest Game of the Year

It’s a best of three now.

And to the winner? A spot in the NHL’s Eastern Conference Final.

During the first two games in Ottawa, the Senators were clearly the better team.  When the series shifted to New York, it looked like the Rangers were the obvious favourite.

Both teams defended their home rink to perfection and now as the series shifts back to the Canadian Tire Centre, the Senators will be looking to regain control of this series.

I’ve been accused of using this term pretty loosely in the past but today’s game is without a doubt…THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR!

Guy Boucher spoke to the media and confirmed that Freddy Claesson draws in for Ben Harpur. He’s also considering a change up front and will make a decision at game time. One forward may be unavailable due to injury.

As we saw in yesterday’s comment section, it would be a polarizing move but after watching those last two games in New York, it’s pretty clear why Boucher is entertaining the idea. We’ll find out for sure just after noon.

We’ll confirm the line up in a little bit.

Stalberg-Brassard-Stone
Dzingel-Turris-Burrows
Hoffman-Pageau-Pyatt
MacArthur-Smith-Ryan

Methot-Karlsson
Phaneuf-Ceci
Claesson-Wideman

Craig Anderson gets the start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 3:00 PM.

Home ice and the support of a fan base has proven to be a huge factor in this series so far.  Both the Senators and Rangers looked like entirely different teams playing in front of their own fans.

And that’s why if you’re heading to the game this afternoon, you need to be loud. Like, really loud.

It’s been a hell of a ride for the Ottawa Senators to this point. All year long they’ve proven people wrong and again, it feels like the experts are counting them out of this series.  Sens fans, we can give them a spark. We can give them the push they need to win this pivotal Game 5.

There are at least 25 teams and fan bases that would kill to have the opportunity we have right now.  Let’s enjoy it.

GO SENS GO!!
