Chabot Returns After One Game in Belleville

Thomas Chabot must be getting used to that that trip to and from Ottawa by now.

After being returned to the American Hockey League following Saturday’s game against the New York Islanders, Chabot was recalled again late yesterday.

Chabot is expected to join the team on this upcoming seven game road trip.  Whether or not he actually dresses tomorrow night against the Montreal Canadiens remains to be seen.

The Senators organization has mentioned on a few occasions that they feel like it’s important for Chabot to be playing as many minutes as possible and this latest demotion and recall shows their commitment to that philosophy.

After making Chabot a healthy scratch against the Islanders, rather than have Chabot sit around until today’s practice, they sent him back down to Belleville, where he joined the BSens for a 5-1 loss on Sunday night. Chabot was a -3 in that game.

Now he’s back with the team in Ottawa and expected to join the team at practice later today.

There was no sign of another forward recall yesterday although don’t be surprised if the Senators do bring up someone as insurance before they hit the road.
