Watching that game against the Philadelphia Flyers the other night, it was clear that things got a little chippy. Perhaps more than we realized.
This morning, the Ottawa Senators announced that three regulars are headed to the IR.
Cody Ceci (upper body injury), Ryan Dzingel (lower body injury) and Alex Formenton(concussion) have all been placed on the IR. Christian Jaros and forward Nick Paul have been recalled from Belleville.
Obviously this is a great opportunity for both Christian Jaros and Nick Paul to show what they can do. Jaros was in the mix for a spot right up until the end of Training Camp and Nick Paul has made his living on the roster bubble. Of the three injuries, the concussion to Alex Formenton has to be the most concerning. Hopefully it doesn’t keep him out of the line up for too long.
The Senators take on the Los Angeles Kings tomorrow afternoon.
