Senators Prepare for Rookie Tournament in Buffalo

Tomorrow, in scenic Buffalo, New York, a collection of hockey playing adults will don the colours of the Ottawa Senators and take part in a competitive match of ice hockey.

While the stakes could not possibly be lower, it’s another necessary step towards the beginning of a new season.

The Rookie Sens will play a total of three games in this year’s Prospect Challenges. Game One goes tomorrow at 3:30 PM against the Devils. They play the Penguins on Saturday before wrapping things up on Monday afternoon against the Blue Jackets.

While the roster isn’t exactly packed with household names and even though I am convinced there are a couple contest winners and/or season ticket holders in the mix, there are a few guys to keep an eye on this weekend.

At the top of that list is Carter Yakemchuk. Selected 7th overall in this summer’s Entry Draft, Yakemchuk has the talent to stand out in a setting like this one. Older guys like Stephen Halliday and Tyler Boucher should dominate too.

Here’s a look at the players heading to Buffalo this weekend.

Should be able to catch all the games live on the Sens website too.
