August isn’t usually a big time for hockey discussion of any kind so any news is appreciated.
The fact that Eugene Melnyk will be in the house means you can quickly eliminate any sort of player personnel move, obviously. So if you’re hoping for a grand reveal on that Cody Ceci contract extension, you may want to prepare for disappointment.
Possibilities include an Outdoor Game, an Alfredsson Jersey Retirement or a relocation of the team’s AHL affiliate to Belleville, Ontario. All three of those events are on the horizon but mid-August seems like a strange time to announce any of those things.
