This seems like a pretty good time for a season-changing trip to California, wouldn’t you say?
On the heels of one of their worst performances of the season the other night in Washington, the Ottawa Senators look for a big bounce back effort as they start a three game swing through the state of California.
First up- the surprisingly vulnerable Anaheim Ducks.
Heading into this season, the Ducks were a team assumed to be among the strongest in the entire National Hockey League. With a line up that includes a seemingly lethal mix of experienced high-end players and emerging young talent, this Ducks team appeared poised for a breakthrough season. But it really hasn’t worked out that way.
Anaheim come into this game with a 17-17-7 record. Despite all the talent on their roster they have had a heck of a time scoring goals. I keep waiting for them to snap out of it but with more than half the season over and done with, the Ducks are running out of time to get this thing turned around.
Hopefully their struggles continue for at least one more night.
From Ottawa’s perspective, it’s going to be all about putting that debacle in Washington behind them. One change to the line up as Freddy Claesson sits for a game and Chris Wideman returns. Here’s how the Senators are expected to line up.
Ryan-Turris-Stone
Hoffman-Zibanejad-Michalek
McCormick-Pageau-Lazar
Prince-Smith-Neil
Methot-Karlsson
Wiercioch-Ceci
Borowiecki-Wideman
Craig Anderson gets the start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 10:00 PM.
