This four game road trip has had its ups and downs.
We have seen a bit of everything from the Ottawa Senators over the last week. They were competitive against the Rangers but came up short. They played a solid game against the Panthers and rallied for an important win. In Tampa Bay, they started strong but couldn’t play the full sixty minutes.
They’ll be looking to close the trip on a high note as they take on the top team in the Eastern Conference, the Montreal Canadiens.
If there’s a good time to face the Habs, this is it. They’re pretty banged up right now and are in the midst of their first real slump of the season. They’ve lost four straight games at the hands of the Capitals, Hurricanes, Bruins and Red Wings.
All four of those games were close but that certainly hasn’t stopped Habs fans from extending their hand towards the ol’ panic button. A Saturday night loss to the Senators and the Habs “faithful” might be ready to turn on their team. And as we’ve all learned, there are few better sounds in hockey than the frustrated boo’s that rain down from the Bell Centre crowd when their team is struggling.
Ottawa trails the top ranked Habs by just six points, and with a game in hand. With the Eastern Conference tightening up in a hurry, this would be a great time for a regulation win.
No changes expected up front. Shane Prince sits again in favour of Mark Borowiecki, the forward. Same defence pairings too. Here’s how the Senators are lined up at the morning skate.
Hoffman-Turris-Ryan
Smith-Zibanejad-Stone
Dziurzynski-Pageau-Chiasson
Borowiecki-Lazar-Neil
Methot-Karlsson
Wiercioch-Ceci
Cowen-Wideman
Craig Anderson gets the start in the Ottawa goal. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM.
