Just three games to go. That’s it.
It has been a long and painful season for Sens fans but by this time next week, it will be all wrapped up. The Senators have just three games to go. Home dates against the Flyers and Canadiens and then a stop in Boston to close out the year.
Heading into the final week of the NHL’s regular season, the Sens sit in 27th place, two points behind the Islanders but tied with the Panthers in points. Still a lot to be decided at the bottom of the NHL’s standings.
NY Islanders | 79 | 30 | 37 | 12 | 72 | ||||||||||
Ottawa | 79 | 30 | 39 | 10 | 70 | ||||||||||
Florida | 79 | 29 | 38 | 12 | 70 | ||||||||||
Colorado | 78 | 29 | 41 | 8 | 66 | ||||||||||
Edmonton | 78 | 24 | 43 | 11 | 59 |
The Sens have a pretty tough schedule to close out the season but the teams around them have been so awful it’s difficult to imagine them falling any lower than 27th. Here’s hoping the Panthers get hot down the stretch.
Wiercioch and Benoit, who both played on Saturday night, were sent back to Binghamton over the weekend. The Sens are expected to recall at least two more players before their game on Tuesday night against the Flyers. Should hear more on that at some point this morning.
(UPDATE 4:06 PM) Thanks to everyone that entered today’s contest. The winner will be notified via email later on this evening.

And I know a few of you have asked about Travis Yost and all I can say for now is that we are in a bit of a holding period. I’ll leave it to Yost to explain when he gets here, which should be at some point early this week.
