As the final seconds ticked down in Game 7, and the rowdy MSG faithful roared around me, I didn't find it felt like previous playoff losses.
Right down to the final second, there was something special about this Ottawa Senators team. Like they have done all season, they fought to the very end. Unfortunately it wasn't quite enough and the Sens fell to the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
It was amazing to see the level of respect Rangers fans had for this Senators team. There really was an "anyone but Ottawa" consensus among New York fans before the playoff matches were set. A die hard Rangers fan sitting to my right said that no team had played the Rangers as tough as Ottawa did.
Still on the road so I'll have a chance to post a more comprehensive blog when I return home, but I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to the loyal readers of this site. The Senators took us on an unexpected ride this season and being able to discuss it with all of you on a daily basis made it that much more enjoyable.
What started as a small site with just a handful of readers really has grown into one of the best Senators communities on the internet.
Thanks again and Go Sens Go!
