(UPDATE 10:54 AM)- Missed this news late last night but another RFA was signed last night as forward Dave Dziurzynski inked a 1 year/2 way deal worth $640,000. Remaining RFAs include Cowen, Wiercioch, Condra, Da Costa, Hoffman and Cowick.
The Ottawa Senators continued the process of shaping their team for next season, signing one of their own restricted free agents to a new contract.
This evening the Sens announced they have signed defenceman Mark Borowiecki to a two year contract that will see him earn $550,000 in year one (on a two way deal) and then $600,000 in the second year of the contract. Year two is a one way contract
With Borowiecki under contract, the Sens can now turn their attention a few other RFAs including defenceman Jared Cowen and Patrick Wiercioch as well as Erik Condra.
Borowiecki has become a poster boy for the type of hard work the organization has emphasized to their group of prospects. He is certainly being rewarded for that hard work with a one way contract in the 2014/2015 season.
Will be interesting to see where Boro fits in with the team next season or whether he is destined for another year in Binghamton.
