Joe Corvo has found his way back to Ottawa
Was away in Toronto for the weekend so just catching up on the news from earlier today. This morning, Ottawa Senators GM Bryan Murray announced he is bringing former Senator Joe Corvo to town on a one year/$900,000. A solid depth signing that bring some veteran experience to the team's blueline.
With Sergei Gonchar gone to Dallas and Andre Benoit signing in Colorado, the Sens needed to add to their blueline.
In Corvo, they get a much needed right handed shot that can play the power play. So in that regard, you can see why Corvo is a good, affordable option for the Senators. On the other hand, it's a bit of a head scratcher because Corvo left Ottawa under not the best terms, and has had a fairly public dispute with Sens' centre Kyle Turris.
Clearly Corvo was willing to put the incidents behind him and return to the city where he enjoyed so much success six years ago.
