Ottawa Senators General Manager Bryan Murray is now one item closer to his official summer vacation.
According to James Gordon of the Ottawa Citizen, the Sens have reached an agreement with restricted free agent forward Stephane Da Costa. It is a one year, two way contract that keeps Da Costa in the organization for at least one more year. While the Sens have a ton of depth at centre in the NHL, they can certainly use his offence down in Binghamton.
Interesting tidbit included in the article from Gordon is that Da Costa was considering a contract with a team in Finland.
Considering the depth this organization has up front, it's tough to see where Da Costa fits into the team long term. With Spezza and Turris holding down the top two centre spots, and Zibanejad, Pageau, Smith and O'Brien all on the roster, it's unlikely Da Costa gets much of a look this season.
That said, Luke Richardson can certainly use his offence down in Binghamton this season.
With Da Costa inked, the last remaining order of business for Murray and his staff is defenceman Jared Cowen.
