(UPDATE 9:59 AM)- Apparently Gryba was only the beginning. With some injury issues up front, the Senators have also recalled Derek Grant and David Dziursynski from the Binghamton Senators. Doesn't leave much down on the farm but a great chance for the kids to show what they can do. Practice at 11:00 AM at SBP.
With Erik Karlsson expected to miss the next 3-4 months, the Ottawa Senators are turning to another Eric for a little help.
This morning, Head Coach Paul MacLean announced that the team has recalled defenceman Eric Gryba from Binghamton of the American Hockey League. Gryba is having a terrific season, appearing in 38 games, racking up 11 points, and registering a team best +28 plus minus rating.
The move means the Sens now have 7 defenceman on the roster as Gryba joins Marc Methot, Sergei Gonchar, Mike Lundin, Chris Phillips, Andre Benoit and Patrick Wiercioch.
We'll see what Paul MacLean has in mind for defence pairings when the Sens hit the ice for practice at 11:00 AM this morning. Will have another update after that skate.
