After a hard fought training camp and a strong preseason, the Ottawa Senators are finally ready to get thing started for real with their regular season opener in Montreal.
Should be a great atmosphere at the Bell Centre tonight as the Northeast Division rivals kick off the highly anticipated 2012/2013 National Hockey League season. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:30 PM with all the action available on Team 1200 and Rogers Sportsnet.
After an impressive training camp, including three goals in the preseason, Jakob Silfverberg will begin the season in the team’s top six. Head Coach Paul MacLean liked what he saw from Silfverberg in the preseason and with the preseason injury to Peter Regin, the young Swede was the obvious choice.
Here is how the Sens were lined up at the morning skate in Montreal.

When Marc Methot was acquired in an off season deal that sent Nick Foligno to Columbus, the belief is he would make an ideal partner for Erik Karlsson. That is exactly where Methot will start his career with the Ottawa Senators. Here is how the Sens D-pairings are expected to look.
Methot-Karlsson
Cowen-Gonchar
Borowiecki-Phillips
No surprise in goal as Craig Anderson gets the nod for the visiting Senators. Ben Bishop will dress as his back up. Carey Price starts for the Canadiens.
GO SENS GO!
Oh wait…
