The National Hockey League may be officially locked out but Sens forward Milan Michalek has still found a way to get injured.
According to Bruce Garrioch, Michalek recently underwent surgery for an abdominal injury suffered while training in Montreal. The recovery period is expected to be 4-6 weeks.
For more on Michalek's injury and what it could mean for his $4.5 million salary you can check out the article from Garrioch. Essentially if Michalek is still injured by the time the season would have started, he will still receive his regular salary.
And because he is injured, Michalek is apparently the only player actually allowed to use the facilities at Scotiabank Place.
Certainly an interesting twist for Michalek. Sens Team President Cyril Leeder will meet with the media later this afternoon. Will pass along any interesting updates from that address.
