Watching hockey in Ottawa is about to get a lot more enjoyable, assuming the damn NHL and NHLPA can work out a deal sometime in the near future.
While all the buzz in the downtown core is about the new MLSE run operation, there's another sports bar that will soon open its doors and will be tailored specifically to local sports fans. The Senate Sports Tavern & Eatery, is scheduled to officially open its doors on Clarence St. later this month.
It's headed by a few local guys that are huge Sens fans and have a passion for everything Ottawa. Aside from being fans of local sports teams and contributing to the local economy both, on a business and personal level, this group of young restaurateurs actually care about the authenticity of their establishment.
After having a couple conversations with them about the new venture, I can tell you they are committed too.
From what I've heard they plan on having a true Canadian feel with a wide array of sports memorabilia ranging from hockey, football, baseball and pretty much every other sport out there.
When I get more details I'll be sure to pass them along. In the meantime, you can find out more by following them on Twitter here, liking their Facebook Page here or checking out their website at http://thesenate.ca/
