The 2013/2014 NHL season is closing in quickly but not before the Senators close out their preseason schedule with games in Ottawa and Barrie.
The Sens will play a split squad game against the New York Islanders tonight in their final tune up before the regular season. The first game gets started in Barrie, Ontario just after 6:00 PM while the second puck drops around 7:30 PM at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.
It's a bizarre bit of scheduling and one that has forced the Head Coach to get a little creative during this year's training camp and keep around enough players to ice a couple teams on the final day of training camp.
While MacLean has been able to break up camp into a couple separate groups including one that is primarily made up of players that will start the season here in Ottawa, it would have been nice to be able to ice a complete line up in the final preseason game. But the Sens will have to make due with the hand they have been dealt.
The Islanders Ottawa line up is expected to include a couple former Senators in Peter Regin and Matt Carkner.
With that in mind, here is how the Sens are expected to line themselves up for tonight's games.
