I find it hard to believe there is a city more desperate for the return of a new hockey season than Ottawa.
After a summer full of off ice distractions, the Ottawa Senators and their fans can finally turn their attention to what matters most- the game on the ice. The Senators play their first of 8 preseason games tonight against the Winnipeg Jets. The puck drops shortly after 8:00 PM.
Unfortunately for Sens fans, the preseason opening game will not be televised. It's a damn shame too because it sounds like the Senators are sending a pretty strong line up to Winnipeg for their preseason opener.
Paul MacLean will debut his new top line which includes Milan Michalek, Jason Spezza and Bobby Ryan. Erik Karlsson is also expected to dress for, paired with Marc Methot and Robin Lehner will get the start in goal.
Plenty of reasons to broadcast this one but unfortunately Sens fans will be limited to radio coverage courtesy of Team 1200. In the event a stream becomes available, I'll be sure to share the link in the comment section below.
Will add the rest of the line up to this post when it becomes available.
UPDATE- Looks like there will be a stream available here!
