Paul MacLean and his team are stuck in one of their worst stretches of the season and it could not come at a worse time, with teams pushing for the final couple playoff spots.
The Ottawa Senators will look to get back on track in Philadelphia tonight where they’ll take on a Flyers team that has played well at home this season. Philly has posted an impressive 12-5-2 record at the Wells Fargo Center and will obviously give a struggling Senators team all they can handle tonight.
Despite being seven points out of the 8th and final playoff spot in the East, the Flyers had been playing some solid hockey before back to back road losses in Winnipeg and Long Island. They have picked up at least a point in six of their last seven home games. Certainly not a good sign for a Senators team that has been dreadful on the road this season.
Yesterday afternoon the Sens recalled forward Jean Gabriel Pageau from Binghamton of the American Hockey League.
He’ll make his NHL debut tonight skating on a line with Greening and Condra and will wear #44. A big reward for a guy that has had a solid first season as pro. Milan Michalek will not play and Regin, O’Brien and Lundin are the healthy scratches.
Here is how the Sens are expected to line up
Lehner
Methot-Gryba
Wiercioch-Gonchar
Benoit-Phillips
Latendresse-Turris-Alfredsson
Conacher-Zibanejad-Silfverberg
Greening-Pageau-Condra
Kassian-Smith-Neil
Little bit surprising to see the Sens go with Lehner in a game they need so badly but with the team playing on back to back nights, you had to know Lehner would start one of them. Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM.
GO SENS GO!
