(UPDATE 6:49 PM)- The Ottawa Senators made their third roster move of the day, recalling forward Mike Hoffman from Binghamton of the American Hockey League. Earlier today the team put forward Kaspars Daugavins on waivers and returned forward Dave Dziurzynski to Binghamton.
An interesting roster move from the Ottawa Senators today as they are expected to place forward Kaspars Daugavins on waivers.
With Dave Dziurzynski back and healthy, and with the Sens already carrying an extra forward in Jim O'Brien, the Senators forward ranks had suddenly become a little bit crowded.
Daugavins is an extremely popular guy in the locker room and has been useful on the penalty kill while in the line up. With that said, he has just 3 points through 19 games this season and is a -7.
Should be interesting to see if Daugavins makes it through the waiver wire. In the meantime, with the NHL Trade Deadline a little over a week away, this move opens up a roster spot for the Senators should they decide to add somebody via trade.
