(UPDATE- 10:34 PM)- Daniel Alfredsson left the game in the third period and it sounds like the injury could keep him out of the line up tomorrow night. The Sens have recalled forward Nikita Filatov from Binghamton of the AHL. Great chance for the kid to show what he can do with the big club.
The fifth straight win came in style!
The Ottawa Senators stunned the MSG faithful with a furious third period rally that nobody saw coming. Well except for anyone that has watched the Sens this year. They will not go down without a fight!
When Richards scored to put the Rangers up 4-1, it looked like it was going to be a walk for the Blueshirts the rest of the way. That was until I remembered I was watching the Ottawa Senators.
Another stunning third period rally led by a pair of goals by Jason Spezza and Ottawa came all the way back to steal a point from New York. With those two goals, Spezza is now just a point back in the NHL scoring race and continues to carry this Sens offence.
Ottawa moved to 3-0 in the shootout against a very tough goalie in Lundqvist. Michalek (who also tied the game in regulation) scored the lone goal for the visitors and Anderson kept everything out of his net.
It was overshadowed by the third period comeback, but Daniel Alfredsson left the game after a cheap shot from Wojtek Wolski. He will be facing a lengthy suspension.
Ottawa is right back at it tomorrow night when they go for their sixth straight against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
GO SENS GO!!
