The Ottawa Senators were on the ice for practice this afternoon, exactly 24 hours ahead of their match up with the Philadelphia Flyers tomorrow afternoon.
Some good news on the injury front as Craig Anderson skated again and for the first time since last week’s ankle injury, faced some actual shots. Anderson spoke to the media afterwards and even though there is no timeline for his return, he said he’s feeling better each day and will be back as soon as possible.
The next challenge for Anderson will come tomorrow morning when he attempts to get down in the butterfly and for the first time, really test that injured ankle. If he can continue to progress like he has the past few days, he should be back in the net in the not too distant future.
Meanwhile, Sens Head Coach Paul MacLean confirmed that Ben Bishop will get the start on Saturday against the Flyers. Mike Lundin is also expected to draw back into the lineup in place of Andre Benoit.
Mark Stone, who has been sidelined with an injured finger, is expected to play for the Binghamton Senators tonight. With the team struggling to score goals lately, you’d have to think he gets a look with the big team at some point.
