We. Are. Back.
And I’m not just referring to The SensChirp Podcast.
With yesterday’s flashy free agent signing, the Ottawa Senators have boldly announced to the rest of the league that they do indeed still have an NHL franchise. And it’s an NHL franchise with designs on winning the whole damn thing! Okay, okay- winning the whole damn thing within the next four years.
While it’s not clear where the Evgenii Dadonov signing appears in the 112-page master plan document, it has to be in there somewhere.
For many teams, a move like this would be a solid addition but for the Senators, it does have the feeling of a turning point of sorts. The signs have been there for some time (Chabot and White contracts, Matt Murray trade) but it’s another pretty clear indication that the Senators are building towards something here. And Sens fans, I know it feels unnatural but it’s okay to be excited about it. For a moment anyway.
Now where was I? Oh right- the podcast! We’re back with another episode because frankly, the Senators forced us back by doin’ stuff
In the first segment, you’ll hear…well I’m not sure what it’s supposed to be but it’s only two minutes long so there’s that. Then in the second segment, we’re back in the virtual studio to discuss the news of the week including the Dadonov signing, the Stützle injury and the Paul Nick extension. Then in the final segment, we discuss this article.
It’s Episode 4….of The SensChirp Podcast.
