Things are quickly going from bad to worse for the Ottawa Senators.
On the ice, the losses are piling up. Five straight coming into tonight’s game and eight losses in their last nine games. But the team is fighting a different battle away from the rink.
This morning, two more players were placed in the league’s COVID protocol. Both Matt Murray and Alex Formenton have been added to the list bringing the total number to eight players and a coach.
The Senators are still scheduled to host the Los Angeles Kings later tonight.
With the outbreak evolving by the hour, the Senators are clearly in a tough spot here. The league is apparently keeping a close eye on the situation in Ottawa but to this point, it sounds like they’ll go ahead with tonight’s game.
Earlier today, the Senators announced that they have recalled three more players (Andrew Agozzino, Dillon Heatherington and Lassi Thomson). Right now, only Heatherington is expected to play.
Who plays and who doesn’t seems to be very much up in the air but here’s how DJ Smith has them lined up at the morning skate.

Puck drop is scheduled for just after 7:00 PM with the game available on TSN5, RDS2 and on the radio at TSN1200. Keep an eye on the comment section for streams at game time.
