And with that, we conclude Viktor Stalberg Watch 2017.
HUGE ACQUISITION: EV Zug signs Swede Viktor Ståhlberg, 31, for 2 years from @Senators. Ståhlberg joins Gothenburg pal Carl Klingberg at #EVZ https://t.co/JF4u1LRomH

When Pierre Dorion spoke on TSN1200 last week, he mentioned that they were expecting a decision from Stalberg sometime in the next few days.
Obviously it wasnt the decision the Senators were hoping for as in the end, as Stalberg saw a better opportunity overseas.
Rumour has it the offer from Ottawa was a one year deal worth a shade under $1.5 mil.
Interested to see where the Senators go from here. While it would have been nice to have Stalberg back, the forward ranks were looking pretty crowded as it is.
Rather than look to sign a similarly priced free agent, it might make more sense to leave the spot open for a young player in training camp.
