How’s that for a way to fill some time ahead of the season opener?!
On Wednesday, the Ottawa Senators announced that they have signed goaltender Linus Ullmark to a four-year extension that will pay him $33 million. That’s $8.25 mil a season for the former-Vezina Trophy winner.
Ullmark, who has um yet to actually play a game with the Senators, is heading into the final year of his current contract. He was acquired from the Boston Bruins in what was essentially, a robbery by Sens GM Steve Staios.
That deal looks even better now that Ullmark is locked into a reasonable contract. Sure it’s a little pricey but the four-year term on the deal seems like a huge win from the organization’s perspective.
Ullmark is 31 years old and is entering his 8th season in the National Hockey League.
