Not going to lie- my heart may have skipped a beat reading that one.
This morning, the Ottawa Senators announced that they have signed forward Parker Kelly to a two-year contract extension. Kelly gets a one-way contract in the second year of the deal.
Kelly is a great example of hard-work and perseverance paying off. The organization has been high on him for the last couple years and it’s easy to see why. While there is nothing particularly flashy about his game, you always notice Kelly when he’s out there. He also happens to have a goal in every NHL game he has ever played.
Here’s Pierre Dorion on the signing…
“Parker has long been a consistently tenacious player for us. He’s competitive, hard-nosed, an efficient penalty killer and someone we can rely on to provide us with an energetic and determined effort every game.”
Kelly was skating on the team’s fourth line this morning and appears as though he’ll be in the starting lineup on opening night.
