The Ottawa Senators have signed Mike Hoffman to a four year contract extension. He’ll earn $3.8 million in the first year of the deal and then $5.65 in the next three seasons.

That’s a great deal for both sides.
The Senators are able to keep his salary low next season, which was a priority and then Mike Hoffman gets the security of a multi-year deal. It works out to a cap hit of about $5.2 million a season. Also, the fact that Ottawa was able to keep the term of the contract fairly reasonable is an added bonus for the organization.
