(UPDATE 4:30 PM)- Holy, Pierre. Save some productivity for the rest of us. On the heels of the Jonathan Aspirot signing, the Senators announced that they have locked up goaltending Kevin Mandolese to an entry-level deal.
As many of us have found out over the last month or so, working from home can be challenging.
It can be tough to stay focused on a task and maintaining motivation throughout the day can be a struggle. Not for Pierre Dorion though. The guy is gettin’ shit done.
For the second time in three days, the Senators’ General Manager has locked up a player to an entry-level contract. This time, signing 20-year old defenceman Jonathan Aspirot.
Here’s PD on the signing.
“Jonathan is a player, with credit to our amateur scouting staff, that we’ve kept tabs on since he was a development camp invitee in 2018. He’s long demonstrated great hockey sense and exceptional determination to the point where he became a regular among Belleville’s defence corps last season. His progression has collectively indicated to our hockey staff that he has become a legitimate NHL prospect.”
The undrafted Aspirot has been a pleasant surprise in Belleville this season, forcing his way into the line up on a regular basis.
Glad you noticed Jonathan Aspirot. An astute under the radar signing by @Senators. Poised beyond his years. Trusted in all situations by coaches despite being 20. Not a high profile draft prospect but keep an eye on this kid. Big upside.

The American Hockey League can be pretty rough on young defenceman but Aspirot has been steady down there this season, appearing in 44 AHL and racking up 16 points along the way.
