Senators Release 2016-2017 Schedule

The Stanley Cup was awarded just 8 days ago and already eyes are starting to turn towards the 2016-2017 campaign.

The NHL Awards go tomorrow in Las Vegas. The Entry Draft kicks off on Friday in Buffalo.  And then free agent frenzy goes a week later all around the league.

And this afternoon, the National Hockey League released the complete schedule for next season.

The Ottawa Senators will kick off the regular season against Frederik Andersen and the Toronto Maple Leafs on October 12, 2016. That’s just 113 days from now for those of you keeping track at home. They follow that up with a Saturday night home game against the Montreal Canadiens before playing their first road game in Detroit on October 17th.

Of note from the schedule- Ottawa will face two Atlantic Division teams five times (Buffalo and Montreal) and will play four games against Boston, Detroit, Florida, Tampa Bay and Toronto.

This will be one of the busier regular season schedules in recent memory with the late start thanks to the World Cup combined with the addition of a bye week for all 30 teams.

The full schedule is available here.
