Senators Recall Veronneau from Belleville

After splitting a Friday/Saturday back to back against the Flyers and the Sabres, the Senators are turning to Belleville for some forward help.

This morning, the Sens announced they have recalled Max Veronneau from the American Hockey League.

Veronneau, who was signed as an NCAA free agent late last year, has appeared in 14 games with the BSens this season. He has 3 goals and 6 points.

It seems like the Senators are sticking with the idea of rotating through different call-up throughout the season. It’s a good way to keep the guys in the AHL motivated.

If he plays, Veronneau will be the 7th different Belleville Senator to suit up in Ottawa this season.

Josh Norris and Rudolfs Balcers will likely get an NHL look too at some point.

After a sluggish start to their season, Troy Mann’s team has been better of late. They fell 4-2 to Milwaukee on Saturday night but before that had reeled off four straight wins.

Their next game goes Wednesday night in Laval.

We’ll find out where Veronneau fits in DJ Smith’s forward combinations later this afternoon. The Senators practice at 1:30 PM in Detroit.
