Thanks to the heroics of John Scott, All Star Weekend in Nashville will go down as one of the best in the league’s history.
But now, it’s time to get back to business.
The Ottawa Senators have a busy schedule ahead of them in the month of February and have a handful of teams to jump if they want to grab a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
It’s nothing compared to the gap they faced last year around this time but the Sens can’t count on a similar miracle this time around. If they want to have a shot, they need to start stringing some wins together in a hurry.
The Senators are back on the ice for practice this evening (5:00 PM) in Pittsburgh ahead of a tilt with the Penguins tomorrow night.
And with that in mind, the team has once again turned to Binghamton for a little bit of help up front. This morning, the Senators announced they have recalled Dave Dziurzynski and Max McCormick from the American Hockey League.
Max McCormick isn’t overly surprising considering his play before the break but it’s sort of interesting to see Dziurzynski get another look. There are a handful of more skilled options (Puempel, Schneider, Lindberg) that may have made sense this time around.
Interested to see how the Senators line them up at practice later today.
