On the heels of a much needed win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday afternoon, the Ottawa Senators are now preparing for some more bad news on the injury front.
Thomas Chabot left Saturday’s game after a pretty textbook hit from behind and there was no immediate update on his status after the game. He left the ice under his own power but was clearly in discomfort.
And this morning, an indication that he may miss at least part of the upcoming homestand. Jacob Larsson has been recalled from Belleville of the American Hockey league.
Larsson has appeared in 12 games with the BSens this year, putting up two assists and registering a -10. Larsson does have some NHL experience though and can help fill the void temporarily.
Realistically though, on a blueline that is already dangerously thin, the loss of Chabot is a huge one. We’ll see if the team provides an update on his status later today.
The Senators return home to host the Islanders on Monday.
