With Mark Stone down with an injury, the Ottawa Senators have again turned to Binghamton to fill a spot in the line up.
Stephane Da Costa was recalled this afternoon and is expected to join the team on their current road trip in Washington. Da Costa started the year in the NHL but never really made much of an impact, spending a lot of time on the team’s fourth line. He has since gone down to Bingo and been a key part of the offence down there, racking up 37 points in 37 games.
There was no immediate update on Stone’s injury but initial word is he would not be joining the team on the upcoming road trip. Disappointing turn of events for Stone who was really hoping to stick with the big club for good but obviously a great chance for Da Costa to show what he can do.
The Senators visit the Washington Capitals tomorrow night. Craig Anderson is expected to get the start in goal.
